With so many companies entering tablet market this year, ViewSonic too announced their first ever seven-inch tablet called VeiwPad.  The new ViewPad is expected to be released by end of the year in the US market.

Though, the seven-inch screen might be small while compared to Apple iPad, but it will surely dominate the tablet market as many people love carrying small screen tablets rather holding bulky Apple iPad.

ViewSonic has also announced the 10-inch model along with the 7-inch model.  Besides size difference, there are some other aspects like operating system being different with these two models.  The ViewPad 7 will be running Android 2.2 (Froyo) version OS whereas the ViewPad 10 will arrive with Android 1.6 (Donut).  ViewPad 7 will support 3G, Bluetooth and Wifi.  It also has front and rear cameras which is ideally suited for video conferencing and capturing pictures.

I’m not sure why ViewSonic decided to stick with Android 1.6 OS for their bigger screen tablet, ViewPad 10.  However, the ViewPad 10 might get Windows 7 Home premium, since being a dual-boot device.  Some of the other additional features of the ViewPad 10 include a 1.66GHz Atom processor, 1024×600 display, 1.3-megapixel camera, 16GB SSD and1GB RAM.  The ViewPad 10 also supports flash-based contents (Apple’s iPad doesn’t have a flash support).

ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10 will hit the market very shortly with a price tag of $479 and $629 respectively.
