Toshiba is set to unveil its first tablet PC for the US market in July. The Toshiba Thrive tablet runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS and boasts a 10.1-inch screen that supports 1280 x 800 resolution.
Toshiba Thrive tablet will be powered by Tegra 2 processor and comes packed with features like 5-megapixel front camera, 2-megapixel rear camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, HDMI ports and SD card slot.
The Thrive tablet features a button to lock the screen orientation; it also comes with Toshiba file manager and pre-installed Swype. Thrive’s battery offers up to seven hours of battery backup and its removable as well, also the battery is said to reach 90 percent charge point in just an hour and a half.
The Toshiba Thrive tablet PC will be available in three models, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB with the price tag of $429, $479 and $579 respectively. With Sony already announcing its two new tablet PC models now Toshiba’s Thrive will surely be a treat for tablet lovers. Hope we will also see some tablets from Lenovo as well very soon.
