Savvy Chick vs. Windows Live Mail
I’m trying. Really I am. I want to love Windows Live and all it has to offer. I want to embrace Web 2.0.
I got an invitation to try the “new” Windows Live™ Mail beta so I logged in using one of my old hotmail accounts and went into it with an open mind. Yes, I really did. I chose my layout, colorized it pretty pink and then got to see the new interface. I read a few emails and then discovered the calendar link. “Oh, that’s cool..” I thought. So I clicked it and then I couldn’t even get back to my email account. No link. Not even the logo is linked. So I hit the back button, and of course it gives you the error that you have to refresh the page. I’m not trying to be bitchy, really I’m not. What happened to basic navigation? A link back to where you began and a logo linked to the main page, it’s simple. Anyway, I didn’t see anything Earth shattering within the shiny new interface that made me want to give up my own email client. continue reading....

Sprint over to Sprint and Sign up!
Sprint has announced two new plans that would allow its customers to make or receive unlimited calls between their cell phone and a pre-designated home or office number, regardless of their wireline carrier, without deducting minutes from their wireless service plans.
The consumer option will cost $5.00 per month, and business customers with a rate plan of $49.99 or higher could add it for $8.00 per month.
Sprint will also offer Sprint to Home with Long Distance, a free offer for customers who subscribe to both Sprint wireless services and long distance services.
Sprint plans to expand the value of this offer later this year to allow business customers to pre-identify a range of landline numbers - up to 30,000 DIDs - that can be called without pulling from the subscriber’s bucket of anytime minutes. [Press Release]

It’s an Organizer, It’s a Keyboard…
Well isn’t this just nifty! It’s exactly the same size as a standard keyboard too. I don’t know about you but my desk is littered with “little things” that seem to get lost. I don’t have a drawer, so I guess that’s partly my fault though. But anyway, back to this keyboard..
”The Keyboard Organizer is a unique keyboard that opens like a clam shell to enable users to store their everyday desktop items such as pens, CD’s, markers, paper clips, stamps and more.”
They also say it’s the worlds first and only patented fully functional computer keyboard that makes use of all the empty space.

Razr Phones Pulled from Market
Cingular and T-Mobile stopped selling the Motorola Razr phone this week. There seems to be a glitch in them that causes the phones to disconnect.
Customers who purchased Razrs with the flip problem can exchange them through T-Mobile and Cingular however at this time the phones have not been officially recalled.
The good news is that Motorola has already solved the issue at the manufacturing level, so there are new phones on the way.
Just so you know though, this problem does not affect Razrs sold through Verizon Wireless, because Verizon uses a different wireless technology than Cingular and T-Mobile.

TiVo Mobile is Hot Hot Hot
No more worries about forgetting to set the TiVo. Did you just realize that your all time favorite episode of Sopranos is on tonight and you’re going to miss it? Hey, forgetaboutit. The new TiVo Mobile has made it easy for you to set your TiVo remotely via your cellphone.
“TiVo subscribers will soon be able to program television recordings straight from cell phones using the Verizon Wireless network.” according to this article.
Verizon subscribers will be able to access TiVo Mobile through its “Get It Now” service menu starting in the early summer. Verizon’s pricing for the service has yet to be announced. Hopefully it won’t be on a per item basis, but then again.. how much are you willing to actually pay for this service?

Geeks Around the World are Drooling
"Iocell Korea will unveil the world’s largest capacity flash drive with 16GB capacity at CeBit. With 16GB capacity you can carry your entire MP3 and video collection in your pocket. The drive connects via USB 2.0 for super fast transfers and as it supports plug and play it does not require any driver installation.”
Cool, so when can I buy it in the United States? This is a geeks dream come true!

Why should I use Windows Live?
Can someone please tell me why I should use Windows Live? I mean from what I can see it offers a search, news feeds and weather. There seems to be some other options as well, but nothing that makes me want to get excited and proclaim my profound love for it. Maybe I’m missing something, maybe? I’m not? It was good for looking up a few RSS feeds that I couldn’t find for sites I’ve been looking for. So the search function is kind of good. Also their image search offers you a chance to view content within frames - which is convenient but isn’t that a big no-no? Framing other people’s content has been a big taboo on the ‘net as far as I remember.
I know it’s all about Web 2.0 and I know everyone’s excited about it. Well, most people. I guess I don’t enjoy having to be connected to do everything, and with as many errors I had while surfing the site it was just frustrating. Yea yea, I know it’s Beta - but still.
Here’s a link to all the goodies they’re offering: Windows Live Ideas
Anyway, if you have something exciting to add to my lovely Windows Live (beta) experience I would LOVE to hear about it. Send me an email or comment. In the meantime, I guess I’ll stick with my good old standby.. MyYahoo. It’s been good to me and it offers nearly everything that I found available on Live.com.

SNAP! Cybershot Goes Mobile
Yet another non-pink mobile phone that makes my heart go pitter-patter. The newly announced Sony Ericsson K790 Cybershot Mobile Phone is even better than the Samsung SGH-i310 I told you about yesterday!
Put it this way, it’s the first ever cameraphone to carry the Sony Cybershot name, so it’s got to be good? Right?
Here’s the 411 on this gem:
Okay, sign me up!
The Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot K790 Phone offers a 3.2 megapixel digital camera w/ auto-focus, plus a Xenon flash (better pictures!). Toss in a music payer (MP3 & AAC) and a video recorder… bluetooth and the best feature: full HTML browsing with RSS feeds, Google Search and Blogger integration. I’M IN LOVE!!!!
My only peeve.. I wish it were a flip phone. I’m a flip phone kind of girl. I just don’t love the bar phones - no matter how much I try. Don’t even ask me how many minutes I’ve wasted on accidental calls or web browsing… ugh.

Now, This is an All-in-One Phone!
Okay, so it isn’t pink… nor is it especially shiny. If you didn’t know better you’d think it was some old phone from 1999. But let me tell you, this phone can rock your world!
The newly announced Samsung SGH-i310 features an 8 gig hard drive and can play back MP3, WMA and AAC music formats. And it also includes a nice little 2 megapixel camera. Toss in Bluetooth and USB 2.0 and I’d say this is the only phone you’ll ever need (well, until something bigger and better comes around in 6 more months). It will run on Windows Mobile 5.0.
Now, if you’re in Korea.. you’re in luck. If you’re in Europe.. you’ll wait at least 6 months to get your grubby paws on this one. As for us poor techno challenged Americans.. only God knows how soon it will be here. Typical.
