Sony announced two new gadgets that make sure that your smartphone doesn’t run out of battery power while you are on the move or camping. The Sony USB portable power supply is tiny and compact, which is ideal for travelers who don’t want to get into any embarrassing situation while on the move and can’t find a place to charge their mobiles.

Both CP-A2LS and CP-ELS USB portable power supply chargers are easy to carry and using them is as easy as you plug a device into your laptops/desktops USB port. The Sony CP-A2LS USB portable power supply charger comes with Li-ion 4000 mAh battery that can deliver power for up to two smartphone battery recharges. You can connect your smartphone to the portable charger either using the included micro-USB cable or using the phone’s original charging cable.

The Sony CP-A2LS USB portable power supply charger also has four LED indicators that show the charger’s battery level in real-time. So, when you see that the battery level is low you just have to attach the portable USB battery charger to the main AC supply for quick charging. It’s charging time is approx. 6 hours.

Sony CP-ELS USB portable charger comes with Li-ion 2,000 mAh capacity battery making it ultra-compact than CP-A2LS. However, with the CP-ELS you can recharge only one smartphone, so choosing between the two USB chargers should be based on your requirements. The CP-A2LS also comes with a micro-USB cable for charging your smartphone quickly. Both these portable USB chargers will have a low self-discharge rate, so even if you don’t use the charger for long time it still retains 80% of power in it.

Sony will place the CP-A2LS and CP-ELS Portable power supply chargers on sale from November 2011. Price details are not yet known.
