I Won, I Won, I Won

I entered Savvy Chick in the great ExpressionEngine $15,000 Shootout a few weeks ago. Actually, I built Savvy Chick using ExpressionEngine Core because of the Shootout. My friend Sue forced me to enter. ...and well guess who won? keep reading…

No Need to Search for a Four Leaf Clover…
Now, it’s as easy as buying them on the Internet!
It’s said that the four-leaf clover secures wealth, fame, a faithful lover and good health. Pressed between two layers of glass, these genuine four-leaf clovers are surrounded by a nickel-finished frame. Great addition to your desktop at the office or maybe even in a bright sunny window at home. I think this is a really nice item to give as a gift.

Savvy Chick vs. Windows Live Mail
I’m trying. Really I am. I want to love Windows Live and all it has to offer. I want to embrace Web 2.0.
I got an invitation to try the “new” Windows Live™ Mail beta so I logged in using one of my old hotmail accounts and went into it with an open mind. Yes, I really did. I chose my layout, colorized it pretty pink and then got to see the new interface. I read a few emails and then discovered the calendar link. “Oh, that’s cool..” I thought. So I clicked it and then I couldn’t even get back to my email account. No link. Not even the logo is linked. So I hit the back button, and of course it gives you the error that you have to refresh the page. I’m not trying to be bitchy, really I’m not. What happened to basic navigation? A link back to where you began and a logo linked to the main page, it’s simple. Anyway, I didn’t see anything Earth shattering within the shiny new interface that made me want to give up my own email client. continue reading....

Beautiful + Irish = Perfect!
More St. Patrick’s Day items, we’re counting down the days to the “Day ‘o Green” here at Savvy Chick. Todays item is a stunning Celtic bracelet.
Timeless symbols of eternal love, these Celtic infinity knots will charm you. This sterling silver bracelet was designed by New York jewelry artist Denis Matthews, who was raised outside Dublin in a small village known for its Celtic artwork. This is one of the prettiest bracelets I’ve ever seen.

Top of the Morning to ya…
Oh now this is a great addition to our seven days of St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Oh yes, it’s really green! Luck of the Irish Top of the Morning green hot chocolate by McStevens is sure to hit the spot on a cold March 17th. Did I tell you what we’re doing for St. Patty’s Day? We’re heading to Chicago for the parade and the annual turning of the Chicago River bright green event. It’s freaky if you’ve never seen it. I’ll see if I can find some pictures from last year for you. Spring break begins for us this Friday so the girls and I are going to take the train into the windy city for the weekend. We had our hearts set on going to Florida, but unfortunately it’s not going to be possible this year.

Sprint over to Sprint and Sign up!
Sprint has announced two new plans that would allow its customers to make or receive unlimited calls between their cell phone and a pre-designated home or office number, regardless of their wireline carrier, without deducting minutes from their wireless service plans.
The consumer option will cost $5.00 per month, and business customers with a rate plan of $49.99 or higher could add it for $8.00 per month.
Sprint will also offer Sprint to Home with Long Distance, a free offer for customers who subscribe to both Sprint wireless services and long distance services.
Sprint plans to expand the value of this offer later this year to allow business customers to pre-identify a range of landline numbers - up to 30,000 DIDs - that can be called without pulling from the subscriber’s bucket of anytime minutes. [Press Release]

Fun Backstreet Boys Parody
I found this video a couple months back and laughed my ass off while watching it. Today is rainy, there are floods everywhere and to top it off there have been tornadoes everywhere - I don’t know about you but I sure need a good laugh on this gloomy Monday morning. So today I present you with the funniest guys at Duke University that I could find. The “other” Chinese guys singing “I want you to know...” by the Backstreet Boys.

It’s an Organizer, It’s a Keyboard…
Well isn’t this just nifty! It’s exactly the same size as a standard keyboard too. I don’t know about you but my desk is littered with “little things” that seem to get lost. I don’t have a drawer, so I guess that’s partly my fault though. But anyway, back to this keyboard..
”The Keyboard Organizer is a unique keyboard that opens like a clam shell to enable users to store their everyday desktop items such as pens, CD’s, markers, paper clips, stamps and more.”
They also say it’s the worlds first and only patented fully functional computer keyboard that makes use of all the empty space.
