Samsung has announced the world’s first smart projector phone, the Samsung Galaxy Beam GT-I8520. The phone will be released through StarHub operator for its customers in Singapore from July 17, 2010. The Samsung Galaxy Beam will come with many power packed features along with a crystal clear 3.7-inch WVGA super AMOLED display.
StarHub will be the first operator to launch the Samsung Galaxy projector phone powered by Android OS v2.1. The phone supports StarHub’s mobile TV app which lets the users to project live mobile TV on the wall right from their phone. Customers can also use MobiClip to browse through their favorite videos from YouTube and MetaCafe directly on their phone.
Additional specification of the Samsung Galaxy Beam include a 8-megapixel camera with auto focus and flash, 16GB memory, Bluetooth v3.0, WiFi, GPS, TV out and USB v2.0. The phone packs with an 1800 mAh battery that provides upto 7 hours of talktime and 530 hours of standby time.
