Not that long ago we have reviewed about the Sony’s DSC-TX5 digital camera that is waterproof, dustproof etc. Now Pentax has come up with the launch of the new Optio W90 waterproof camera that can be submerged for upto 20 feet deep in water. This Optio W90 is also cold-resistant for upto 14F and dustproof too. The greater advantage of Pentax Optio W90 over Sony’s DSC-TX5 digital camera is its rubberized panel which can save the camera from any withstand drops from height more than 4 feet.

The camera can take some stunning shots and footages that is closer as 0.4 inches from the lens. Features like 12 MP resolution, 32-person face detection, picture stabilization, 720p video recording and a 5X, 28-140mm lens makes this device a head of Sony’s DSC-TX5. Optio W90 will start shipping in April 2010, and will be available for $330.

Have you compared the picture quality of the W90 to the previous W80 at all? I know the W80 was really lacking in the quality of the picture and I was just curious if they improved on that at all.
Love the rubber casing….from someone who drops cameras a lot!
