Intel has recently launched its most powerful Extreme Edition Processor called the Core i7-980X which has six cores in it compared to the former which had only four. The Extra two cores is a big difference for multithreading capabilities. This Core i7-980X is code-named as the Gulftown. This Gulftown is a 32 nm process and brings Intel’s turbo boost and hyperthreading technologies in to one single machine with six cores. As a result of this the system performance is drastically increased. Both the Core i7-980X and Core i7-975 are very similar in its clock speed of 3.33GHZ and three DDR3 channels for memory.
But still the difference lies in the extra two cores which gives ultra speed performance for multithreading capabilities.
