TekTrak is a mobile phone tracking software that allows smartphone users to track their phone if it’s misplaced or lost. If you can’t find your iPhone, TekTrak gives owners a means of finding out where the phone is. Free tools locate the phone, track its previous locations and ring the handset-all from any web browser. Even the free app offers great features that Apple and other free competitors do not, including the iPhone’s last known location and the ability to see all the phone’s previous locations plotted on an interactive map. This means that even if a phone’s battery dies you will still be able to see its last location-something Apple’s Find my Phone will not let you do. In addition, if you don’t recognize the location, or don’t think you can retrieve the phone from that location, an upcoming update will allow users to send remote messages to the phone in the hope that the person who has the phone will respond. And, if you think that the phone is indeed lost or stolen, this update will let you remotely wipe the contacts you have saved on the phone. So, your friends’ and family members’ contact information will not fall into the hands of strangers.
Of course, knowing where your phone is has other uses too. For instance, many parents have used TekTrak to know where their children are and have been, using the location history feature to see their kids’ movements throughout the day.

TekTrak recently raised a round of seed funding and the company is currently developing even more features for future updates.
