I Won, I Won, I Won

I entered Savvy Chick in the great ExpressionEngine $15,000 Shootout a few weeks ago. Actually, I built Savvy Chick using ExpressionEngine Core because of the Shootout. My friend Sue forced me to enter. ...and well guess who won? keep reading…
Now, if you know me.. you know that I was kicking and screaming all the way as Sue and Leslie tried to convert me to ExpressionEngine from pMachine a couple years ago. Yes, I’m a self-proclaimed pMachine Goddess. But, and I’m ashamed to admit it, ExpressionEngine overwhelmed me in the beginning and being the “creative” type that I am it was just easier for me to keep using pMachine for sites instead of being a good website designer and going with the latest and greatest technology. (See a trend here? Shut up!)
I’m happy to report that now that I’ve taken the time to really get “down and dirty” with ExpressionEngine, I love it. Love love love it.
Okay now back to what this post is really about. I won I won I won. Yeaaaah! I entered just hoping to make the top ten. I got third!!! I’m am the happiest third place winner in the world right now.
I think what made me the most excited was to read what two of the best web women in the world had to say about Savvy Chick:
Emily Chang of IdeaCodes placed Savvy Chick 1st in her voting. Emily says:
Savvy Chick does a great job branding her site for her audience of hip, modern girls, as well as providing content in a wide array of topics - all in a fun, personal voice. The site has an easy to use navigation scheme and I love the “visual version,” which switches content to an image-only grid view.
Molly Holzschlag of Molly.com placed Savvy Chick 2nd in her voting. Molly says:
Fun color work, very appropriate for topic, I tend to dislike “buy me” blogs but this one is true to its mission as a “fun, girly site . . . with style”.
Those two quotes alone are worth more to me than any prize. But, hey I’ll take the prizes still *smile* My daughters are already dividing it up and making plans for the $$$.
I’m truly the happiest chick in the world right now. Oh my gosh I still can’t believe I actually won.

Thank you thank you thank you. I’m still happy. Ugh if I wasn’t so busy right now I’d be jumping up and down still. Work sucks! I can’t believe I’ve also not posted on Savvy Chick in 2 days, I’m so bad :( Guess I’ll have to make it up to you all.
