Well atleast from now onwards we don’t have to worry about the limitations we had while using USB ports on desktops and laptops. Gonglue Jiang, a Chinese design student has come up with a concept called infinite USB plugs. With the help of this USB plug device you can easily attach all your cables one after another (see picture) to a single port. However, you can only connect to a maximum of 3 or 4 devices to avoid the bandwidth and power shortages. The other main limitation you would face with the infinite USB plugs is that if you want to unplug a device that is connected in the middle, then you need to remove all the devices that are connected after it.
However, you can easily identify which plug belongs to which device with the help of color coding that is available on each plug. The device is still in early design stages, so we can expect further improvements and enhancements when it finally gets released.
