Dell PowerVault DL2100 – Powerful Backup Devices

Dell has come with a new powerful backup device for small scale and medium enterprises with the collaboration of Symantec Backup Exec.  The name of the back up device is PowerVault DL2100 and is the only integrated solution for backup to disc backup from both Dell and Symantec.  And this also the first and advanced integrated solution for faster recovery which starts protecting the data in 18 odd minutes.  This PowerVault DL2100 comes in two different versions.  One is the Value Series which has Intel Xeon E5520 processor with 2.26GHZ, 2 hard drives of 250 GB and 6GB RAM.  The second is the Model Pack has Dual E5520 processor with 24GB memory and 2TeraByte of storage.  There is also one more variety called the expansion band which can be customized as per the business requirements.  The performance as predicted by Dell was the PowerVault DL2100 has 55% faster based backups and recoveries are 49% faster than other tape backups.  And it is expected to cost around $8600.
