HP has now released a new video of its upcoming Windows 7 slate. It seems like HP is trying to compete with the iPad. HP, Adobe and Microsoft have worked together to bring out this new HP slate. Adding to it, HP slate will be able to play several hours of HD video on a single battery charge. HP slate has a good clear touch area along with large icons and faster web browser. Since 75 % of the videos on website use flash, with HP slate you don’t have specifically to load a separate application to watch flash videos.

Acer frameless laptop with touch keyboard to be launched in mid 2010

Acer is now planning to release world’s first frameless ultra-thin laptop with touchscreen keyboard. Many would never ever have imagined seeing such a hi-tech model laptop this soon. As on DigiTimes, this frameless notebook is expected to use the back glass panel substrate to display text and images. The Acer frameless laptop will considerably save energy and material costs.  It is expected to be released in the second half of 2010.

HP’s latest EliteBook tablet And ProBook notebooks in news

HP has announced new set of EliteBook and ProBook models this week, including their first pro tablet PC. The EliteBook 2740p tablet has a 12.1-inch multitouch display with pen support. It also uses the Intel’s latest and much faster core i5 or i7 low -voltage processor, so that the system can run upto 5 hours on a single charging. Some of the other specifications that are expected in the system include 160 GB to 180 GB HDD upto 8 GB of RAM and DVD writer. It is expected to have a price tag of $1,599. Read more…

LG, first to gain the Windows 7 Touch Logo sticker for laptop displays

LG has announced that they have obtained the ‘Windows 7 touch logo’ for its touch screen panels. They are the first to gain the Windows 7 touch logo sticker for laptop displays. The LG’s in-cell multitouch functionality enables simultaneous touch recognition on two points. This LG multi-touch product has got touch sensors that is built into the display. This is completely different from normal conventional touch screen products in which they place films for touch screen function to the standard display.
