Canon has released a new digital cinema camera with interchangeable lens. The new digital cinema camera is compact and offers exceptional imaging performance to meet all the needs of a movie production unit. It will be available in two models, the EOS C300 and EOS C300 PL. The Canon EOS C300 is compatible with all the latest lineup of interchangeable EF lenses, while EOS C300 PL Digital Cinema Camera is equipped with a PL lens mount to use with PL lenses.
Both the models are developed to support Full HD (1920 x 1080) performance and have a pixel size that is much larger than any other formal camcorders. Additionally, they also support high-quality video recordings at the rate of 50 Mbps, and stored in MXF file format and hence making it easy for editing.
The highlighted feature of the Canon EOS C300/C300 PL digital cinema camera is its small form factor that makes it easy to carry around to places where traditional large cinema cameras would have difficulties to reach. The new Canon digital cinema camera is perfect for shooting low-angle shots. The camera can also be attached with monitor unit, handle and variety of other third-party accessories depending on the shooting needs. It can also be controlled remotely from a smartphone or tablet pc easily as well.
Canon EOS C300/C300 PL digital cinema camera is equipped with few other features like four start/stop buttons, fast-motion shooting and easy frame rate adjustments between 1 and 60 fps in increments of 1 fps. Both the camera’s is equipped with drip proof, dust proof and built-in cooling system.
Canon EOS C300 and EOS C300 PL digital cinema camera will be available in late January 2012 and March 2012 respectively for an estimated price of $20,000.
